I wonder why the solar companies out there aren't buying up old CRT TVs to make more efficient collector lenses for their solar power tiles.

Too many random samples and unpredictable availability. Solar tiles that produce electricity don't use heat, they use photons, so making things ridiculously hot won't help.

However, there is another way these can be used. There are solar farms that use curved mirrors to heat pipes that generate electricity. Sun rays>mirrors>pipes>hot water>steam>turbines>electricity.

There is a pretty big one pretty close to Tucson, I just can't remember the name of it. Cool stuff IMO. I bet a home job like in the video could get some sort of results, just keep the kids away.
