but that is the sound moving the hose and the movement of the hose is what is causing the water to appear in a sine wave sort of pattern....you can do the same thing if you just grab your garden hose and wave it up and down.

It looks cool in the video I will admit. But the vibrations of the sound is impacting the hose, not the water.

9 seconds in it lists the components they used, Only thing I can see off the top of my head thats missing is the dial/switch to adjust frequency.

Right, but I don't think it is as easy as that. Where do they get the freq from, how do the emit it, anything more special than a hose over a speak with an ipod hooked up to it?

Well to get that kind of movement, you would want a subwoofer with a decent amount of throw. As for the frequency generator you can use this. Online Tone Generator - Free, Simple and Easy to Use. Just run your computer into a big amp and sub.

Might be easier to use a strobe and a dripping hose.
