need help booking a vacation to vegas

trying to surprise my girl for her 25th birthday and take her out to Las Vegas.
I wanted to put the Plane tickets in her card and surprise her that way. Thing is, I don't have all the money in the world and i didn't know much about Vegas, where to book the hotel room and what attractions to go look into. Can you guys help me out? Whats a good hotel room? and plane to get? my budget is $1,000-$1,500 in total. I'm looking to book this soon since her birthday is in early June. All the help would be appreciated.

Try Kayak.com Usually pretty decent in finding good prices. Booking a hotel and flight together can save you a bundle.

How long are you planning on staying? You're budget is going to be the most limiting factor. Groupon and Living Social have good weekend Vegas deals all the time: http://www.groupon.com/deals/ga-bk-p...otel?c=all&p=0

If you want to stay on the strip in a decent but not extravagant place plan on spending $125-$175 a night. Show tickets will be $80-$150 each. Use the monorail to get around if you don't want to walk. An all day pass is $10 or $15 I think.

Bottom line... money goes quick in Vegas.

Las Vegas | VEGAS.com - Las Vegas Hotels, Las Vegas Shows & More.. Site specifically for Vegas bookings. Saw an ad the other night on tv about it.

groupon usually has somethin of decent price....

find a show you want to go to, then usually you can stay at the casino/hotel its at and get reduced priced tickets.

a year or two ago i wanted to take my girl to see The Beatles cirque du soleil show...
the host casino had a deal, 2 nights, 2 tickets and a $50 dinner voucher for like $400

sooo i'd do a little reasearch and see whats goin on right now

It's been a while, but I did not think the Luxor was worth the money.

The Bellagio had an excellent buffet and is a decent destination of it's own.

Blue Man Group in Vegas was better than the Houston Tour, imo, but that may just be the new show.

Downtown Vegas hotels can be cheaper than the newer ones.

Mandalay Bay aquarium was cool.

M&M factory was a fair walk thru.

A trip to the full auto shooting range was good too. :D

Email my mom, she loves Vegas and goes like twice a year. She's a amateur travel agent on the place that's free. Pm me if you want her email.

just wanted to get out of jersey and she wanted to go on vacation and id figure i would kill two birds with one stone and take her somewhere she has never been before and do it up that way, plus i think its different and meaningful esp for her 25th bday. well whats the best bang for your buck hotel wise, then i guess we will go from there, i dont know where to look for concerts, nightlife, etc and other attractions.

We stayed at the rivera for nppl. It was terrible.

But we Saw/met the village people for like $35?

Blt burger (restaurant in the vanecion I think) was really really good

Mandalay bay was really nice, pool was great. That was like 5-7 years ago. Haven't been there since

M&ms was fun
New York new York rooftop rollercoaster was a blast
Amusement park at circus circus was good too
Had the best steak of my life at the restaurant across the hall from the blue man show
