Those new Tech Flex fins are supposed to be great but I don't have any experience with them. I only ride FCS fins. Futures are too proud of their stuff ($$$) and I can't tell a difference in performance. Like most things it's all personal preference.

I like a thruster setup on my fun shape; though I only ride it twice a year or so. It's a 7'6" x 22 x 2 5/8 mini-long with a square tail.

I've got G-AMs on my Daily thruster and I've been super happy with them. Super stiff off the bottom but plenty of release up top. I think I'm going to run Kelly's new K2.1s with a knub on my new 5 fin groveler but I'm not sure. I've been told they ride nice but I haven't been on them yet. My other option is the Q-PC5s with the knub. I guess I'll find out in a week and a half.

report back your findings….interested to hear.
Glad I'm going with the futures setup, had too many past problems with FCS plugs.
Kelly's five fin set-up seems pretty hot right now, you're fortunate only having to ride the fun twice a year. Jersey is not always as pumping as West Coast.

What suit did you end up going with? My first suit I ever bought I cheaped out on and I quickly learned that it is one thing that is worth every penny you spend on it. I quickly ditched it and spent $400 on a top of the line wetty. I wear mine 3-7 days a week so having something that is comfortable, warm, and durable is extremely important.

In the winter I wear a RipCurl 3/2 F-Bomb. My summer suit is a RipCurl 2mil short sleeve (full leg) E-Bomb Pro. For that glorious month or so where the water stays in the upper 60's and ambient temps are 80+ it's nothing but boardies for me.

I have an o'neil 4/3 that I got on sale at Jacks a few years ago. I love it, especially during the winter months.

Love those boards, the florescent yellow is hawt. Firstly, I probably don't get out as much as you, trying for 1 or 2 times a weak during summer. I went with the O'Neill 3/4 Epic 2 (170 ish). So I'm at the low end of the mid priced spectrum. Frankly, I'm not ready to spend 300+ dollars on a suit. Secondly, I've got a buddy who has used his epic on and off for like upwards of five years now, so I'm hoping mine wont crap out on me. Lastly, O'Neill has a legendary 1 year warranty on all of their suits, So I know I will get at least a year out of mine. This being said, I'll build my skill set and my quiver, and I imagine that this time next year i'll be looking into the O'Neill Super freak or something similar.

Yeah, it's all personal preference, just like everything else. I'm really hard on my suits and seem to replace them every year or two.

Thanks for the love on my boards! Breno does a great job. That yellow board is cursed though. One more incident and it's a permanent wall hanger. I've never been run into by anyone dropping in on me before I got it last November. I had someone drop in and smack the tail on the right the first day I took it out and broke it open. The same thing happened a couple weeks ago on the left but much worse. 3 strikes and it's artwork; never to see water again

Yeah, as a bad surfer, I hate crowded days. I can barely surf without people trying to swerve around me. It's a shame to make boards into wall hangers, but sometimes, it must be done.
