Congrats on the Camaro. Have fun with it!

I'm going tomorrow morning to look at a 3rd gen Camaro project car.

Would like to build it with a 383, a roll cage and upgraded suspension/brakes. Sporty driver/track day car. Should be fun, but will take a long time to finish as I'm pretty well broke.

Not exactly that impressive as Crown Vics are relatively slow, but still thought it was interesting.
Yeah, the current 3.6L are decent. My father in law in charge of ordering the sherrifs cars around here and he did say the 3.6L was a decent engine....almost as fast as a HEMI but the torque wasn't there. The 2.7L on the other hand, I had to drive one on about a 200 mile trip for work. Come on engine...I know the hampsters aren't dead yet...you can get up to 60!

Glad to hear things are finally going well for you and yours. I look forward to not reading your rants about how bad life is and now about bragging about how good things are.

Maybe so. Still better than the cars they push out of italy for 100k+. The best cars still come out of germany.

3rd gen in the "IROC" type bodystyle, yes?

One of my buddies had one of those back in high school. It was a couple of years old, but practically a brand new car in our eyes. The first one of our friends to have actually gotten a bank loan to get a car. The memories in that thing remain to make a very soft spot in my heart and mind for them.

0-60 = 6.2 vs 8.6
0-100= 14.9 vs 23.8

According to the MSP.

You sure the one set isn't for the 2.7L?

It's for the 3.6 and 5.7.

The Michigan State Police do the testing of police vehicle submissions for the nation at the Chrysler proving grounds.

http://www.michigan.gov/documents/ms...s_341045_7.pdf

I believe the 0-60 foe the 2.7L Dodge Magnum is 11.3sec, so I figure the Charger would take around 11sec to get to 60.

That's what happens when you put an engine that's basically the size of a 4cyl into a fullsize car.
