Come on, crack cocaine and brand new Ferraris are cheaper than Ye Olde Workshoppe of Games. I quit it (again) about 5 years ago, and I wouldn't be surprised if they had replaced the Skaven codex twice since that time.

wow all those posts and only ONE person talked albeit uber briefly (mentioned on a list) TORG - having gamed for a long loooong time

dnd, adnd, battletech, gurps, car wars, the list goes on and on....

TORG is one of the game systems whose passing I lamented - you had to have someone who had the right panache to run it - but the system itself was just so darned fun =)

I think I still have most of a complete set of what was released for that game =)

ah the memories

I also have btech up through the succession wars and the clans

=)

Let them try we have guns and experience defending the castle. It's not the locker hall anymore!

I've always preferred the term Dork anyway.

I'm going to start expanding the set & tile pieces for my campaigns. Going to try to make a bunch of generic stuff and some quest specific stuff. I'm really inspired by the Dwarven forge dungeon tiles kickstarter im backing and stuff like this.

I always liked GURPS the most.

Bloodbowl was pretty dope, but our little league died.

You want hardcore 3d dungeon modeling? Hirst Arts - they make silicon molds so you can plaster cast (and assemble... and paint... and find room in your house to store it all...) your own dungeon pieces. This is "MCB loves brass pump markers"-level of tabletop RPG-geekiness and will empty your bank account (just like buying old pumps off of MCB).

Don't get me wrong, if I could afford the Dwarven Forge stuff, I would, as I hate assembling and painting (I once ran a BattleTech mercenary company that was nicknamed the Smurf Legion of Doom - the league I was in required us to paint our figs, just didn't state how detailed the paint jobs had to be, so all of my BattleMechs got a bright blue spray paint job, and nothing else). DF terrain is like having a Geek Chic table in your purpose-built gaming den. Sadly, for what they're charging for these tables, I'd have to be able to drive one to work to fit it into my budget.
