So other than the name I made a quick list of similarities I could see (granted in a 3 minute trailer) between the book and the movie.

1. There's a guy
2. Zombies

it would be a boring movie if it was the same as the book.

I think I read somewhere Max Brooks had a hand in the making of the movie.

It's going to be PG-13 with crappy CGI fast-zombies. Nope, I already saw the abortion that was I Am Legend.

I'll see them both. I love both genres, and can even appreciate crappy low-budget films for their art.

Remember, "Night of the Living Dead" cost under a hundred grand to make, and is widely recognized as the grandfather of all zombie movies.

He did at first, but then I believe they pretty much cut him out of the process.

He's on record as saying that, and I quote, "Fast zombies are gay".

I could probably be ok with this movie if it were called anything else, but I loved the intricacy of the research and geo-political factors of WWZ too much to be ok with this abomination.

PS- Did anyone else know Max Brooks is Mel Brooks' son? I had no idea until recently. And now that I know I can't help but see how alike they look.

Low budget movies are always the best. I can even respect high budget movies done by directors and producers and writers traditionally associated with low budget movies. These people make movies for themselves and the ones that make it to the high budgets have a history of making awesome movies. Sam Raimi, Peter Jackson, George Romero, Kevin Smith, Robert Rodriguez, the list goes on.

That's why Pacific Rim, despite being high budget will be good. It will still have some campiness you need in a monster movie despite having high budget CGI. Plus it will have characters casted for their parts, instead of casted for a movie poster.

Back in my day zombies didnít run. They walked. Uphill. In the snow. They ate what brains they could find and they liked it.

But really a place where you can loosen your tie... We'll see what happens. I figure that with the right set of people to begin with, we could have a good forum.

Otherwise it could go right down the drain...

So we'll see.

Yes!

...and they had to share a set of teeth with their zombie friends.

This looks nothing like the book. Although the pile of zombies, ala the African Marabunta ants, climbing the outside of a building was pretty freaky.
