Watching it now.

I'll update with my thoughts.

Not too bad of a movie. Could've used more development of Brad Pitt's character but I understand the time constraints of a film.

Overall not too bad and def a different take on the zombie genre.

Haven't seen it yet, really want to. Not expecting it to be at all like the book. You can tell immediately from the trailers alone that it's not like the book. Fast zombies, zombies that use organization (ie climbing walls), and a central character involved in the war all go against the book.

I do think that they could have done the book if they wanted if they would have followed the blue print of Contagion, and taken like maybe half of the stories from the book and adapted them. That could have been cool, but it wouldn't have been star driven at all, and totally an ensemble cast. That could have been pretty great, but I'm guessing would have been really expensive for a horror movie (typically cost the least and are the most profitable in Hollywood). Oh well. I'm excited to see it.

the plot developed way too fast it could have easily been lengthened by anther 30 or 60 minutes. The best character in the movie and the best acting IMO was done by Elyes Gabel who played the scientist Andrew Fassbach. The part near the end where he writes on the notepad should have been a on edge of your seat moment with all the prior build up but no.... the book destroys the film, that being said it was a decent movie and I will go see any sequels.

That nelspot never needs lube, shoots 2,000 ball per second, never needs reloaded, doesn't require an air source and when the paintball hits somebody the result is the same as if Chuck Norris round house kicked them.
He nick named the gun Reggie.

I didn't read the book and if I did the two would be seperate. Not going to keep a movie in high regard as to how a book goes. If that were to happen movies would take forever. Take it as it is.

It's the best Zombie movie. Start to finish is was great. My girlfriend and I really enjoyed it.

***spoiler, maybe? ***

Read the book, loved it.

Saw the movie, and there's enough variation from the book to not ruin the book, in any case. For a pure zombie flick, it was good - more thriller and less gore, which is what i prefer. Well, there's still gore, but not excessive or tacky. The movie is in good taste. But the ending felt rushed, kinda fizzles out when the whole movie built up to what i assumed would be a more intense finale. Side note: in the beginning, Brad Pitt's character laughs at one of his kid's questions, but the question didn't warrant a laugh at all, especially not as hardy a laugh as he gave. It was weird. And really, he just tried too hard to act like a "dad" for some reason. Makes me wonder what he's like with his real life [adopted] kids.

They should have done it like Lord Of The Rings and made a trilogy out of it.
