Disgruntled worker

I had an interesting day yesterday.
It seems that one of the carpenters had found himself unemployed after lunch.

This was only a small section of the six rooms affected by the carnage.
He started at one end with a sawzall cutting the metal studs shoulder high and only stopped when he ran out of extention cord.
I watched him start and thought this is strange.
they don't pay me enough to step between rampage and carnage.

Drum, you might catch some business from this one

It looks like someone is going to be replacing a few metal studs.

Yes sir, here is your final check. It seems that after we take out the damages to the worksite, you actually owe us an additional $246.00.

I can imagine the other carpenters watching and quikcly deciding that they'd rather re-do the work than step in front of a pissed off guy with a sawzall!

When one of us IT geeks is let go, our accounts are all disabled even before we find out about it.....for juuuuuust that very reason!

Kindred, I hear you on the IT thing. I had to explain to the owner why IT people need to be disabled before they are fired, and when someone gives notice, just pay them their 2weeks and push them out the door. Some guy with a sawzall can do some expensive repairable damage, some geek with a password, a magnet, and a thumb drive can devestate a company in about 30 seconds.

In the back of my head, I kept hearing my boss using my words giving me my last job when I quit someday. Woot, 2 weeks paid vacation.

Well you tree guys can't be much better when you get let go and go beserk..... all the trees in a park are laying on their side instead of being trimmed... or trees are across roads...

I somehow think that chainsaws are a bit worse than sawzalls

It's common in the industry and we don't take it personally. Of the last two jobs I left, one "let" me finish the two weeks. (damn damn damn!).

The other one actually paid me out through the end of the month (3 extra weeks of pay) and asked that I leave that day. (whooohoooo!)

Our "sawzalls" look more like keyboards around here!

Easy there schmitti, not all tree guys are bad.

We got rained out today, but we have got 2 side by side oaks each at least 85 feet tall to take down. Gonna be a loooong day tomorrow.
