Leave a note on the coffee table explaining the two of you have decided to get sex change operations and elope. Then don't answer your phones for a week or so. Should clear everything right up.

Stay out of it. You don't want his parents hating you. Let him deal with it.

I had a similar situation with my wife's (then girlfriend) family. She is also an only child. Go golfing with them and show them exactly how horrible you both are at golf with them. Play slow and drink all of the beer they have. Make sure to play your worst and make it a miserable experience for them playing with you. We were never asked again to go again with them.

I was also told to grow up and stop playing paintball. Years later, I was asked to get them a paintball gun for my father-in-law to shoot air and scare away unwanted furry critters.

Hope this helps.

I'm thoroughly perplexed by the amount of people who've been told to "grow up and stop playing paintball." It's a sport. Not as mainstream as golf, but still a sport. One is hitting balls with sticks into a hole with friends while wearing a goofy uniform, one is blasting balls with air at each other while wearing a goofy uniform.... Golf clubs and memberships ain't cheap, either....

Bull**** he has. If he has it would've solved the problem. He obviously gives in to his parents. Therefore he hasn't stood up to them. He needs to have a firm stand with them, where he doesn't back down, and let them know he will do what he wants, and intervening won't affect anything but driving him apart from them.

But he won't do that if he's already tried too many times. Call me an ******* if you will, but your boyfriend is beta.

What exactly has your boyfriend said or done when he's standing up to his parents?

Leave the full set up clubs in the driver's seat of the inlaws' car...without rolling down the window first.

Try golf, if you don't like it, Hey you tried it, if you do like it you have another hobby. Then you sell the clubs and buy paintball gear.
