I have a bunch of Chinese and Korean friends who live in Manhattan's China town. They often eat at Dim Sum Go Go. I have eaten there a few times, and assume it is good (though being a white Canadian guy, I don't actually know what good Dim Sum is supposed to taste like - I trust their judgement).

I have a list, I'll have to dig it up and send it to you. China town, Joe's Shanghai for soup dumplings.

Locanda Verde for brunch.

...I'll be back. Where are you staying, what part of town.

My wife and I enjoyed dinner at Babbo when we were in Manhattan. It is worth going there if it fits your taste and budget.

The Italian places on everyones list are Giglios, Palazzo, Bagatto, Babbo, etc. I don't like Pasta, but those are the places everyone says are the best.

However, I do love Chinese food. The best I'd ever had in NYC was at Grand Sichuan in Chinatown. But I've heard they closed last time I was there? I ended up going to the nearby Mandarin Court which was also excellent
