A biff from that altitude wouldn't feel very good, but looks like fun up to that point.

I think I heard a bit on NPR a couple weeks back about these things (or something very similar) being banned/recalled in the US after a couple of major or fatal accidents. From the reports, it sounded like the "victims" didn't take the time to learn how to properly use the things.

Figures, They take all the fun toys away. I can definately see some dumbass going out there his first time and telling his buddy to floor it

Then again, every couple of years we loose somebody on a snowmobile into the lake also. Stupid people will find ways to kill themselves. Why take away the good toys from the rest of us?

I have one of these, it is a riot to ride and damn stable in the air.

the tubes that are being banned are Yellow disks with no stability, not the same thing.

Amazing, I'll have to pick one of these up...

Hmm $400... http://www.qualityinflatables.com/st3950.html

Not too bad, but I'll definately have to think about it.

I could see a gust of wind flipping any of those damn things and just making a mess for the riders.

Oh and hang gliders and water don't mix...especially salt water... bad for the material.
