I think it depends i whether or not you group all living creatures together or do you place a value on certain ones. In this case i value that clam more than the average scummy sheeple walking the earth

They didn't accidentally kill it, they killed it on purpose. The only thing accidental was that it happened to be old, something they didn't figure out until much later. Older clams are probably being served as chowder every day, we just don't know about it because nobody checks the age.

It must have been a slow news day.

To think it survived over 500 years, and then just got scooped up. I kind of feel bad for the guy. It is the same way when fishing for rock fish. They take up to 15 years just to hit puberty, and some of the ones we catch are 50+ years old. All that time, dodging sea lions, sharks, halibut, just to be caught by chance on a hook. The one day you make a mistake...
