Casual Online Strategy Game?

I need a casual online strategy game. Does anyone have a suggestion? I have spent time with monopoly, dicewars, tripleA (axis and allies etc.)...

I would prefer not to spend money, and the more strategy the better.

You may be interested in Stronghold Kingdoms (Free to Play and available on Steam) if you are looking for Multi-player.

But here is a list available on Steam sorted by price.

For single player, I have enjoyed a lot of the Total War series, and I find "The Mighty Quest for Epic Loot" kind of fun. It's more of a puzzle game than a strategy, but fun nontheless.
I'm going back to school to major in Vetrinary Science and Taxidermy. So, either way you'll be getting your dog back!

But Total War is casualty of being a game where you say 'oh f it, just one more round' and suddenly it's 1am three days later. Civilization is the same way. It might be casual in terms of the gameplay, but it has that certain addictive flare.

Faster than light is fun, not strategy per se; but you always need to plan ahead and manage resources.
Find me on PBN if you require my attention

+1 for FTL.

Also, Knights of Pen and Paper is good. You can get it on steam or on your phone, makes a great casual game.
