Adobe premiere elements is good for the price, you can get it bundled with photoshop elements for about $80 from amazon. It does not take much effort to learn how to do simple editing and does allot of stuff for you.

Next step up would be premiere pro, which has way more features

Above that is the premiere suite, which combines a special effects and sound effects editing as well as a bunch more.

Premiere pro is around $800? the studio is $1400 and uses the very excellent dynamic link that makes it allot easier to move adobe items from program to program, eg photoshopped titles & images into premiere pro, and music and sound effects. It kinda speeds up your editing time, also learn the hotkeys on the programs as that also speeds up your time spent.

I recently made a 35 miunte paintball video (from 30 hours of footage) that took about 100 hours to edit, the hardest thing is to figure what to leave in and what to cut out, I used my wife as a test subject if she was really bored watching something it got cut.

I have yet to use an apple for anything but apple is known for editing, alothough I have heard that premiere pro studio is often used by TV shows for titles and such.

35 minutes is very hard to show to others unless its on DVD, I plan to edit out the embarassing moments to make a clean version for internet showing, I recently threw a team party to show it on a projector thats the best way to enjoy it. Plus no one is about to drag my arse into court for 'borrowing' copywrighted materila.

Its one of the projects that is on my list of things to do that is always getting longer because of me spending time playing online games

I have good intentions to show them I just get distracted easily.

Alrighty I have found the enthusiasim to cut a quick edit and I will upload the 2 minute video tonight, it has some silly moments, some slomo's of paintball hits and some tank footage from skirmish ION 06 and USANA NJ 06.

Look on MCBTV after Carter sets it up.

Eric,
How's that working for you?
I'm using an older ver. of Nero just for burning, and have been thinking it might be time to upgrade anyway.

For years I used Uleads Video Editor. Not as nice as Adobe, but very similar layout.

But recently I've just been using Movie Maker. I hated early versions because it was so buggy, with very limited options.

But damnit.. I use it all the time now for projects because, for whatever reason, it runs faster then Ulead or Adobe.
With custom 3rd party effects, I can do "almost" everything that Adobe/Ulead can do, except faster and free.

I just discovered doing chroma-key with Movie Maker, so this years Christmas Video should be... awesome.
