Best video editing software

I know there are a lot of computer guru's here at MCB.
What is the best or actualy easiest to use video editing software for a PC?
I have some paintball footage I would like to get up on the web but I need better and easier to use software.
I am currently using Pinnacle Studio.

Thanks

Holy COW!!! I was literally just logging in to ask the same question!!!

I just picked up a digital video camera to put it straight to my computer, but need to edit the film...

Is premiere free? I'm looking for suggestions also! Thanks!

I use Pinnacle Studio 10 which came on my computer. I'm no doctor but I thought it was really easy to use. Only problem is that its not the full version, I gotta pay more money for that.

I don't suppose there's a PC version of Final Cut?

Final Cut Pro is the best, but if you don't have a Mac, then Adobe Premiere is almost as good. They're not free unfortunately (or at least they're not supposed to be).

I used to do a lot of video editing and the thing is about this free bundled software that is supposedly easy to use if you're a beginner is that it pretty much makes it harder trying to be easier ... if that makes any sense. The beginner stuff will drive you crazy trying to do simple stuff like video inserts over an audio track that's already there.

I miss the days of A/B roll editing with U-Matic 3/4" tapes ... *sniff sniff*

I just picked up a relatively inexpensive Handycam DCR-HC26

Not the best in the world, but this will do what I want and more, and came with a tri-pod etc. Figured I would actually be using this in the bunkhouse, etc, so who knows what it will go through.

This way when it gets all scratched up, then I'll be fine with it

What happens in the bunkhouse stays in the bunkhouse.

I'm hoping to get a mac with in the next year but until then I will check out the adobe premiere.

Thanks for the info.

I have used windows movie maker for school projects and editing shooting stuff and junk yard fun time. It works quite slick and easy, but doesn't provide a wide array of customizabilty. Although, it is free.
