I heard the same rumbling when they cast Iron Man, but it was dead on.

Downey was perfect. I don't recall many real insiders doubting that call. However, Matt M was really only posted days ago and is already seeing backlash. I fully supported Downey. I mean who better to play a drunk Tony Stark than the guy fresh out of jail and rehab!

I also think it had a lot to do with Favreu directing. Hes a fan, unlike ang wangs crouching hulk hidden love story.

He nailed the role plain and simple.
Flawless acting.

It helps that Favreau stayed pretty true to the comic. I get really sick of directors and "their vision for this movie". I don't want to see your interpretation. I want to see the original concept. Directors and their egos... BAH!

I read that about Matt M. a couple days ago. I can only pray that doesn't happen.

Yea I cant understand how directors ruin an already perfect concept by wondering off, seems to be a trend with movies latley.

Another thing to add is the CGI was really well done, most computer stuff looks stupid. That part when the two had the fight on the street and Iron man got tossed onto the hood of some car, the way he bounced looked really natural.

I like how there was so much foreshadowing. Rhody looking at the grey suit and promising next time...HELLOOOO Man of War! Nick Fury and S.H.E.I.L.D at the end....

Tony Stark is supposed to make an appearance in the new HULK. The cast is signed up for a 3 picture deal. Rumor has it, they will slowly bring the Avengers to the screen as individuals then a team......
