| Great movie! Perfect, completely believable acting, completely unlike... Well, most stuff well-known in the last five years. They picked the right actors for everything. Plus, doesn't Stark's partner just look lik an 'Obediah'? Quick question, though: The miniature arc reactor was powering an electromagnet keeping shrapnel out of Tony's heart, right? He did replace that after Pott yanked it out, or whatever it connected to served the same purpose, yes? Anyway... Once he got back to the States, why didn't he just... you know, see a doctor and get the shrapnel removed, like everyone else would? He could still put a reactor in the suit, anywhere he wanted.

| The shrapnel (in the comics) was too close to his heart to be removed. And yes he replaced the original ARC reactor with another that served the same purpose. Did you guys see Captain America's shield laying on the work table. I'm headed back tonight to watch it again to see this: http://www. firstshowing. net/2008/0...d-in-iron-man/

| I just got back from seeing it and thought it was great. I was not realy into comics as a kid so I have no real refrence but some comic movies are just done so great you don't have to be a fan to enjoy. Quote:

| I liked it alot. Though I wouldnt say I loved it. Both the Tony Stark, and Obidiah characters were fantastically acted. Jeff bridges especially. He usually plays some sort of hardass, but seeing him as an evil villian (and not dorky like in "Vanishings") was a real treat. Robert Downey also seemed so well suited. Probobly a little to well suited, which may hurt future sequels though. If I was going to complain, which is my perogative on the internet, I didn't like: 1- Talking robots. This was a PG-13 movie. 2- No real villians. Just a "surprise" villian at the end 3- Preachy anti-military message. A little to heavy-handed. 4- Short on plot. Took forever to get to Ironman The robot thing was most iritating, though all science fiction movies NEED a way to explain what you see on the screen. Usually a dumb assistant who asks questions, or a voice over, or someone who simply talks out loud. Without that, you end up with a Scifi movie like Solaris. nick

2. Remember this is basically an intro for the franchise 3. I don't see that at all 4. Can't put too much plot into an intro So you know what you can do with that prerogative | |

| I agree about the intro part. They have to devote enough time, for the benefit of those who know nothing about Ironman, and comics and general. That said, it still seems like they fluffed an 60 minute story into a 120 minute movie. As far as the anti-military thing. I was referring to the moment where Tony Stark decides to stop making all weapons, including those for our troops- The message being that the military is bad, since all they do is kill. He saw what "his weapons can do", even though he admits they save lives of our soldiers. Tony then BECOMES a weapon, making him seem hypocritical. He didn't know at that point that Obidiah was double-dealing. The movie implied that terrorists stole them originally. I would have liked it better if Tony decided to stop making weapons to prevent Obidiah from double-dealing. Not because he became "enlightened". That would have made more sense. (carefully not including politics to make Schmitti happy)
