If you read, you'd see why it's not a double standard at all. There are two different situations, not the same situation being judged two different ways.

hmm. On a stereotype subject, look at accents. People native to one region beleive they have no accent, and others do have accents. Whereas, these others will use the same argument against them. I had a point to this statement, but seem to have lost it.

I make racist jokes, but they are just that, jokes. I an caucasian, but am brown. I get called derogatory terms for natives and Mexicans all the time. I correct them by saying, "Excuse me? I am a wop or a Dego, whichever you prefer. Not native." Others just call me brown man. Do I care? Not really. Getting called Mexican by people gets annoying. Heck, I have green eyes. Silly people.

Female driver comments are irritating. Blonde remarks get old during the summer. It's tempting to start throwing 2" ball valves at the ones who are condescending about weather or not I know what piece they are talking about when I got the same thing for them last week. Yes, I have X chromosomes, that does not make me an idiot.

The idea of racism is quite frustrating, especially when your happen to be white and the person who is being an idiot is of a different race. I have neibors who happen to not be white who think it's prudent to start their truck or SUV to "warm up" for a half hour in 45 degree weather with their sterio cranked at 6:15 AM. If I complain or get angry, I'm worried it will turn into a racial thing.
