Well then read the book. Written by James Bradley. He also wrote "Flags of Our Fathers" both excellent WWII books.

Flyboys is about Chi Chi Jima an island near Iwo Jima that was a Jap Com center. Geo Bush Sr was shot down and rescued at sea before the Japs could get to him. Our other boys weren't so lucky, the Japs tortued them then fried up their livers for lunch.

James Bradley is the son of John Bradley the Navy Medic who was captured on film and enshrined for the second flag raising on Iwo Jima.

Flags of Our Fathers is the story of the second flag raisers on Iwo. Ira Hayes, Franklin Sousley, John Bradley, Harlon Block, Mike Strank, and Rene Gagnon.

Pardini.. I think you are thinking of another story... this takes place in Europe during the First World War.. The War to end all Wars. It's about Americans that volounteer to fly for the French against Germany.

It looks to me like it will be tacky and filled with emotion that may or may not hav existed during the war, jam packed with modern computerized special affects.

It would be cool if they actually shot down some airplane look alikes and flew through the flaming rubbish and did other cool things like that. I dunno. Looks like it might end up pulling a "pearl harbor" the movie on us.
