| How do you get to be a millionaire? You start out being a billionaire, and get into farming, you'll be a millionaire soon enough.. I do my stuff mostly 'cause I'm a cheapskate. I get half a cow every year from my father in law's herd. Totally organic, and then after all is said and done, it is slightly cheaper than buying it in the grocery store. This year, I am planning on taking some deer down. I will do the butchering myself (the rest can go into the aformentioned compost pile) and have even cheaper meat. One better that i have considered is these guys that are trophy hunters, the ones that just want a rack to mount, or just shoot the deer, usually will give you the thing, I've done that in the past. free meat! Biggest investment there is time and a chest freezer. True sustainability for me would be to have my own natural gas well, and generator, and so forth, along with a oil well, and mini refinery for my own gas. I wonder if I drill deep enough if I can hit oiL?

| Have fun keeping the racoons, opossums and other scavengers off your compost pile if you throw deer guts on it. E

| That's what all the guns I have are for! Almost free entertainment! Right out my back door. Meat may not stay in the compost barrle, maybe I'll just throw it over the fence, it usually get eaten by something, or whatever, either way, it won't stay long!

| Azzy that refinery is pretty cool. Needs more pipes and rivets and sheet metal, less plastic on it though. I wonder how easy it would be to build one? Much more into my idea of self reliance than buying a retail thingamajig. I wonder if you could run a generator on the fuel, an then have it power the thing, rather than running on grid power? Then, youd just need to buy yeast. I would definatly make it more steampunk looking though. Who does the visual design on this stuff anyways? I would buy a hybrid if it had more pipes and more rugged looks than looking like a duplo block that had an accident with a jelly bean, then someone stuck it'sy bit'sy wheels under it. Why not tall skinny tires, like 19" motorcycle ones, with no fenders, or like the old 1930's cars, with the fenders coming out of the body of the car to civer the wheels? can't they make a decent looking car that's fuel efficient? Why do they have to look like you need someone to come steal your lunch money if you drive them? Why does green stuff all have to have this I don't take a bath ever, hippy nerd connotation? Why not have exposed wiring, and pipes running around, with maybe open flames or exposed bits around? Why not more visible rivets? Why hide them? Rant Rant..

| I passed a guy yesterday on a recumbant bicycle with a plywood-metal box of the back of it with turning indicators and an electric assist motor...it was like a half bike/half pick-up truck... it was pretty cool.... but yes...he did get alot of weird looks....

| I saw one the other day made from an aluminum step ladder... CN, they are trying to make them look simple, so people arent afraid of using them. Kind of how most older folks wont use a computer, or some younger kids wont use a shift button... the look of it just perplexes and confuses them.

It doesn't seem like much of an accomplishment to just buy a retail packaged thing.. Visually too, I like to see how things work, not have it all covered by plastic.
