^^ This girl was told she was too fat and her legs were too big for the runway. She was 18 5-9" and weighed 105 pounds.

This is where I say 'Screw those loser designers. Let them starve themselves and make clothes for normal people'.

Maybe average is not what I am talking about. I know America is fat with 63% of us being obese. But why can't we promote healthy - have the girl who is 5-9" be toned, fit, and eat the appropriate amount of calories for her size and body type rather than look 'like a hanger'. We have some issues and we are screwing up our little girls.

This page's theory is that most of the fashion industry is run by homosexual men, who find the most attractive looks to be that of adolescent boys. the masculinised features, and ultra skinny body types with little or no chest is definately not feminine. They have some good points, along with tips for women on how to get HETEROSEXUAL MEN to be attracted to thier looks. They compare pin up type girls body types (clearly marketed to heterosexual men) with fashion model body types (they claim marketed to women, and designed by homosexual men)

I have directed a few women I know who have had body image issues to this site because I find it to be very informative, and educational about what men are actually attracted to. I don't know if I agree with everything they say about the subject, but it is a better view of what a woman should expect out of an ideal body image than what the fashion industry feeds people.

That said, I know on a camera (2 dimensional view) it is easier to make a person look like there is more there than it is to make her look like there is less.

I can't explain the whole runway thing, since I have seen a few of those, and find most of these women to look ill, and not attractive at all.

the website I linked also has photo's of some top models not posing, and they look like people from concentration camp photos who are starving to death. It is really sad what they do to these women. Even sadder is what they do to all girls, and women who aren't even trying to get into the fashion industry.

Yeah, they're really forcibly overriding the free will of those poor women and girls. Someone should make the fashion industry stop holding a gun to their collective heads and...wait, what? They what? Oh.

Heck, if anything this sort of stuff is a net benefit, just as is anything else that's unhealthy when not approached wisely: the gene pool needs more chlorine, as we've removed most of it in the name of making life safer. Let everyone be able to go to Hell in their own good way.

I am not advocating trying to say that the fashion industry should be somehow forced, or that they are forcing women to think this way.

I jut wish it was as easy for women to be convinced that healthy doesn't mean emaciated, as it is for these people to convince women that being emaciated is somehow attractive.

As I said above, I think this is a good thing: women who think becoming emaciated is a good idea are, relative to others, dumber; emaciated women are unattractive; unattractive women are less likely to pass on their genes.

QED, if we encourage dumb women to become emaciated, we'll slowly scour the spa foam of their genes from out humanity's pool.

Or, much more concisely, there's a net social benefit to not only allowing, but encouraging, everyone to go to Hell as they see fit.
