I thought from the way you phrased it that he did it with his bear hands, or at least a primitive type weapon.

I was alot less impressed when i read he used a rifle... i thought he killed with his hands... oh well he fought off a bear so thats pretty cool.

And if that first shot he fired had been a headshot, he would have walked away without a scratch on him. That would have been more impressive.

Good God so what if he used a gun, killing a bear with anything after being chewed on is still damned impressive. Shooting a bear in the head is more than iffy, if you dont hit it just right bullets will richochet away. A high chest /front of the neck shot is a much more effective way of dropping a bear.

Yep. Also a lot harder to hit a charging bear in the chest than it is to hit them in the head, unless it reared up on its back two legs first...

Could have at least jumped on its back and killed it with a knife or something...

The bear attacked him, he scrambled for his gun and shot him again.
What's so impressive about that, would you have done any different?
It's a neat story but it's not like he displayed any superhuman abilities or anything.
