Starbucks definitely gives a good bang for the buck though. Gimme a large coffee, black, and I'll be wired for at least and hour or two. Only coffee I've ever drank that makes me shake physically.
You ever get to this area (Tampa) be sure to get to one of the famous local Latin cafes . You want a jolt get you some Cuban coffee man. Expresso with just sugar. I dont mean the cafe con leche .
They serve it in a large shot glass. Its the consistency of syrup.
I only get it once in a while when my travels bring me near one of the cafes, but it is some serious stuff man.

I've had it in Havanna and Orlando and I agree that is some hard stuff. Cubans lead a deceptively fulfilling life consisting mainly of coffee, tobacco, rum and women!

This is what I think of flavored coffees. I don't recall who did the original one but here is Denis Leary doing the same skit.

Starbucks does a good cup of joe, but whenever possible, I love to go at Bridgehead. Their dark roast is phenomenal.

Specifically the brown Sumatra. By far my favorite bean.

Being that I live in Hawaii. I will attest that it is great coffee, but there is no comparison to a 100% Kona coffee

Great coffee...

I own a Gaggia home machine and grinder I paid a pretty penny for.

Don't get me started on Starbucks. You can't train anyone to be a barista on a super automatic, which is what Starbucks uses. Pulling a shot is part art and part science. A super dumbs down both elements and makes for inconsistant product.

Same and same. Aren't the barristas the ONLY reason Starbucks is so good...

Agreed... yeah, keep your fruits and nuts out of my coffee, thank you.

Starbucks is pretty inconsistent. The worst are the ones are the ones in the grocery stores. I swear, every time I get a cap it's 3/4 milk. I usually end up just getting a double shot because it's about the only thing they have a chance at making properly...

3/4 milk or 3/4 foam? In theory a cap is supposed to be mostly foam. Not to imply that you don't know how it's supposed to be (because I sure wouldn't put it past them to make it almost all milk) but I have seen it happen in person a lot of times where people order something and whine even though it is correct just because they thought it was supposed to be something else.
