| Thick | A new nomination for the stupidest movie I've ever sat through...
...envelope please... The Happening! (wikipedia listing with spoilers) When everybody in the theater gives a collective groan when the movie ends and the lights go on, that's an indication you're not the only one. People in the Northeast just start killing themselves for no apparent reason. As the movie progresses a few theories arise as to why it's happening but it's never really established. Mark Wahlberg drags his wife and his buddie's kid around the countryside trying to avoid the breeze that makes people kill themselves. Then it kinda ends. Yeah. It's hinted that it's the plants emitting chemicals trying to tell people to stop polluting the planet. Yeah, great concept. The only redeeming thing is that the lady that plays his wife (Zooey Deschanel) is totally hot, if a bit bimbo-ish. I shoulda seen Get Smart.

Ugh, I dished out $10 for it last night too. I walked out and tried to get my friends into another movie when the guy walks into a the lions exhibit. Some of the worst acting I've seen this year. Agreed, I shoulda watched Get Smart.

Saw it. Wanted to believe M. Night Shyalamalamalan had something glorious in store after his last fiascoes. Well, yeah...not so much. Good B movie..not so much fine cinema. It's too bad, because 6th Sense/Unbreakable/Signs were so good..and Village and Lady were mediocre...it just seems like M. Night is a one hit wonder

What did you expect, it's M. Night Shamylan. This movie sounds worlds better than his last two, the Village and Lady in the Water.

If you watched the south park imagination land, they pretty much explained something about directors. When a director makes a movie that is nothing but praised, he then gets this ego to where he thinks all his movies from then on will be good. This is what has happened with M. Night Shyamalan. After 6th sense, all he's done is spew us crap. Same sorta thing has been going on with Spielberg too. Watched the "remastered" version of ET for the first time last week and a part of my childhood died. Yes, they did replace the guns with walkie talkies. He also added parts there were very dumb that were cut out of the original ... and for a reason too Speilberg !

I hated sixth sense. I still have not forgiven my friends wife for making me sit through it.
