Ginsburg was a dissenter to the ruling....wait, let me go get my surprised face...

"The Washington government says no one would be prosecuted for a gun law violation in cases of self-defense."
Sure. I trust everything the local government tells me.

The any place alcohol is served part of the statement is incorrect.
You if open carrying or found to be carrying can be told to leave as it is PRIVATE property, failure to comply is defiant trespass, not a gun code. Typical local Sheriff lies or misinformation.

Post Office=federal rules, don't know of a test case, I THINK you are allowed

same thing with schools, I'd leave it in the car.

Courts and Federal buildings, that one is clear...No.

incynr8 - was told the bar/liquor store one specifically about PA. I could see it in a liquor store as it a State run store... and I understand your argument about bars/restaraunts... and have carried in a few.

Painthappy - then they must have changed the signs. In 2002 when I took my class it was the old "If the sign is posted you can not carry... if the sign is not posted just don't get caught" One of those ignorance is not an out type situations. Be interesting to know what the sign says now.

the liquor store is the PA state run store, they dont own the establishments of food and drink. They are not the same entities, but I agree it's LIKELY not allowed in a state run liqor store in PA.

I'm just worried that this ruling will not keep abusive (my opinion) laws from being enacted. I'm sure laws about how firearms can be stored, etc. while in private possesion can still be passed.

When the badguy comes to break into my house, I'd hate to have to: open my locked container, remove the trigger lock, assemble the firearm, open my locked ammunition container, load a magazine, then finally get ready to confront a potentially armed intruder.

At my CCW class, they told us that you could actually carry into any private establishment, as long as it wasnt posted, including bars. (excluding schools, and federal buildings).

They spent some time discussing bars since clearly you can not drink while carrying. But the reason that bars are not made forbidden is that people like private investigators, and armoured truck drivers would likely have to go into bars and restaurants as part of there normal job.

On the other end, most places do not "post" signs, since it makes it look bad for business to let customers know that there exists people who actually carry.
