I'm honestly a little bit surprised. The analysis I have read made it sound like a strong offer.

Well, maybe I'm not so surprised, there is entrenched family on the board. I bet they do an end run and take it directly to shareholders.

Not surprised as beer is always a good business to be in. If the economy takes a dump and times are hard, more mediocre beer gets sold.

Silly thing is, Bud is one of the top selling beers in Europe. Right after Corona I think. Chances are InBev is already brewing it under contract, so this would have chanced practically nothing. Just where the money goes...

Someone here already mentioned that a South African company bought Miller for similar reasons.

A.B. brews some imports here under contract as well. Kirin from Japan is one.

Really?! Didn't know that one. It would be interesting to know exactly who brews what for whom.

Maybe not Here in St. Louis they are talking about layoffs. They are most likely going to sell the theme parks and other non brewing assets. Although I don't know for sure if the horses aren't owned by the family. They might be either way eventually they will end up as Inbev/AB. Just letting it linger on is all.
