Buddy of mine just picked up a CBR600RR last nite. Course he was a bit of an idiot IMHO to buy it since he hasn't ridden a motorcycle in about 15 years and didn't have much experience on one even back then. After he already scared the crap out of himself in the dealership parking lot he called to get some help getting it home. I don't think he made a great choice for a first bike considering his lack of experience.

^^I feel the same way. If I had a choice I'd go for a small V-Twin for starters. But I'm on a bit of a budget, so I'm looking at a used mid-'80s 650 Kawasaki. Those are going for cheap and like hotcakes around here. Gotta take what you can get sometimes. The extent of my motorcycle experience is brief, with a '73 AMF-Harley 350 Sprint. Hope to get the electronics redone this year. The thing is in pretty nasty shape. C6- Really digging the KTM. |
