Russ... I never said it was a good situation. It's F'd up beyond belief... but it gives people the relief of not having to carry a 10" stack of bills to go shopping at the grocery store.

Azzy... how are they socialists.... as far as anyone can tell it's a regime. Power for the people bah.. it's Power for Mugabe.. he doesn't do anything over there that won't get him more power.

Isnt that pretty much how it goes? Feed the Marx crap to the people, and blame the ill on thee rich, and kill everyone in your way?

From Wikipedia-
Quote:
He rose to prominence in the 1960s as the Secretary general of the Zimbabwe African National Union (ZANU). For many years in the 60s and 70s Mugabe was a political prisoner in Rhodesia. His goal was to replace white minority-rule with a one-party Marxist regime.

I hear you Azzy.. on paper he's a marxist... only problem though is that we now see that paper isn't worth all that much in Zimbabwe. The man is nuts.. plain and simple and he hasn't done anything to help his country... he's only run it into the ground

Fun! That's how bad things are.

Sort of reminds me of all the pics of Germany post WW1 when they also faced hyper inflation.

Burning money was cheaper and easier than buying wood.

He's just fast tracked. Give him 10 more years in power and you will have another Cambodia on your hands.

The confiscation of the farms though was classic Lenin/ Stalin tactics, and exactly how the USSR started out.
