Hey Maverick313, can you post a pic of your Maverick? You've got me curious as to how it's set up.

I love Mav's, and would definately buy one if they were rereleased. (Is this a rumor, or just a "what if" or what?) But I completely agree with the rarity issue. I love my 'Mag, and I love the looks I get from the people at the feild when I play with it, but when I look on AO at other people's 'Mags, they mostly look horribly... well, same. So, I guess I get the best and worst of it, but it definetely makes you feel good knowing that you're the only one with that marker set up that way.

yeah i know what you mean about the 'lone pumper' thing.

as much as i bitch about it after i see vids of SoCal fields where every other guy has a carter/phantom and i wouldnt get all the dumb 'where do the balls go?' 'is that a scope?!?' questions. I definatley like being reffered to as the 'the pump guy'

My home field got closed down though, and now im going to one by my parents that theres appearently a few pump shooters at, so it should be interesting to see how i take the change of surroundings.

Ive shot both phantoms, and mavs, and even though id take my phantom over the mav anyday, i plan on getting a mav as a back up, their pump stroke is great.

p.s. i didnt even know they stopped making mavs, their re releasing them? are they going to look the same? any ETA?

thanks

I have 3. They are completely identical, they even use some old leftover parts. For $100, it's a great marker that will get a lot more people interested in and playing pump.

The maverick is going to become much more common, I think, but will still never be the phantom. The phantom offers so much customized options out the door that the maverick will always be the newbie pump, and the phantom will be the intermediate level pump for those who know they like the sport and are willing to lay down some more cash. That being said, I know there will be plenty of days that I will choose the maverick over the phantom

I have a quick review of them here: http://threehundredfps.com/?page_id=40 , and will hopefully be playing with it today at 5pm (pacific time).

And there is nothing wrong with wanting to be unique, but to me, leave that for the hand assembled sniper projects and silly acid wash combos on the phantom. I once tried to order a F-Stamped phantom just to be even more original, so I know what you mean.
