Need advanced Geometry Help:

First off, please forgive the drawing, my hidden lines didn't show up like I had hoped. But they are the ones in blue, if that helps any.

What I need to know is how I would find the angles where the side pieces meet. I want to create the shape shown in "Right Iso" out of 1/2 plywood, but I can't figure out how to make them match up.

I thought I would simply use the angles on the pieces, but they don't meet up when I used 3d modeling. Everything ended up wonky.

Or even the name of what I'm trying to do so I could search for it would be helpful. Thanks.

Did you try using a protractor?

I'm not into advance geometry but where the side peices meet one another would be 90 degrees.

If you mean where the side pieces meet the top or bottom, you would have to supply some other measurements of angles or dimensions.

Nope, I'm designing the plans for the build. We won't actually get into the build phase for another week or two.

It is 90 degrees, until you add the 7.4 degree slope to it all. For some reason once I add that slope nothing seems to add up. Same thing happened when I tried using plain 45 degree angles instead of a 45 degree and a 7.4.

If you can spit out some other dimensions, I'll draw it up for you in AutoCAD and make some measurements.

Height (as if it were sitting on a table, not of individual panels)
Short edge length
Long edge length

I'm on VectorWorks right now so I could do that myself. I just have to do it multiple times so I'd rather have a formula than have to guess and check a dozen times. Plus I'm a big fan of learning what I don't know whenever I can.

Thank you for the offer though.

(In case you still want to mess around with it:

Height: 38.5 inches
Bottom Width: 48 inches
Top Width: 38 inches)

My friend thinks the bottom angle is 80 degrees and the top angle is 100 degrees.

The tilt of one side defines the angle between the bottom and side edge of the other wall, so the result is 90 degrees minus "X" where "X" is the tilt angle.

It's actually 82.6, as I had to edit my above post when I remembered that I was using a new drawing.

Can your friend figure out the angle where the 2 side pieces meet? That's what I need to know. Thanks for your help though.

I'll ask him and edit this post if he know or not.

He thinks it would be 82.6 although he may have become stupid

Voila.

Of course the cuts for the mating surfaces are at 45 degrees.
