So I started my first electronics classes in school this semester. I have a background in electronics in the Army so I'm not totally lost. However, there is a MAJOR problem. Although they were nice enough to waiver some classes, they dropped me right into advanced electronics. I haven't had any electronics theory at all (calculating resistance, impedance so on and so forth) and this is all what this class is. I learned more hands on in Army so we didn't learn much of that. Wondering if anyone out there knows a lot about this and would be willing to help me out.

Its not too late to drop but my entire graduation is riding on this class. If I dont take it now , I wont graduate for another year.

learn imaginary number theory

ie how to interpret e ^ -i * omega * t

into sines and cosines with respect to omega * t (omega being the angular frequency of the circuit)

Dad was an electronic engineer for several years.
From what Ive been told most people that come out of the millitary dont know squat. It seems they just train them to do one specific task and never get beyond that. I am reminded of an elevator tech (my cousin runs an elevator company) out of the millitary and it turns out all he did was change seals on the rams.My advice would be to hit the books, and/or get a job thats willing to work with you while your in college/ect.

Raion, my degree is EE. I haven't been out long enough to have forgotten most of it, so if you have questions, please feel free to PM them to me.

I can understand how linear circuit theory with non-linear devices (or just linear circuit theory of analyzing circuits in the time domain) can be confusing as hell especially if most of your previous experience is straight up tech/maintenance-based. Ask away and I'll try and guide you through the practical math course that is EE theory.
