(I have been trying to teach my dad about this. One day he put a bid in for 99.99 and he lost what he wanted because someone put in 100, so he lost it for a stinking penny. ) [/TIP]
I'll have to remember that. And like I said in my message thru ebay when you get ready to sell it over here I want it

Dude If you are happy with your way stick with it. The rest of us are trying to help out other here on MCB this is not PBN.

AuctionInsights.com - FREE online auction site sniping software esniper ebay snipe site e snipe auctions ebay auction sniper site bid sniper free auction

been using this for three or four years now. Three free bids per week. Cheap to buy later snipes (free is like 15 seconds) or extra snipes in a week.

HammerSnipe

Won about 4 or 5 auctions with it. The rest wasn't their fault, it's the idiots on eBay who are willing to pay over new price for used items, and send the bid soaring into the stratosphere. You can only do three bids a week, but it doesn't cost you anything else.

As for the legality of bid snipers, let me put it this way - if it's legal for PayPal to pass along the credit card companies charges, but not legal for you to pass on PayPal's charges to your customer, then bid snipers are the moral equivalent of helping little old ladies across the street, while carrying their groceries for them.

How do Snipers make ebay worse?

They benefit everyone, including those that do not use them BY PREVENTING BID WARS. This keeps prices lower.

Bid wars are the problem with Ebay. Lots of sellers try to articially create bid wars by using alternate accounts to bid people up. THIS is what is illegal, not sniping. A better method is to start the auction at a penny.

Other auctions sites go so far to actually PROMOTE bid wars by extending the auction an extra 5 minutes if any bids come in in the last minute. I WILL NEVER BID on any site that promotes such an aweful practice.

I've never understood why people bash Snipers, but they tend to be the types that will bid a penny, then get outbid, then bid 50 cents, then get outbid, then a dollar, then 5, then 20, and so on. I did the same thing when I started using ebay 10 years because I THOUGHT that saved me money. But it didn't.

Since then, I've used Hammersnipe for most of those 10 years. Its free and use it for all my bids EXCEPT for the rare item that I must have, and will pay any price.

jbidwatcher, great program if your PC is going to be running anyways. Since I've almost always got torrents running on my slow budget cable connection I just leave JBidWatcher open constantly. Makes a nice concise list of everything I'm watching on my My EBay list at a glance. Not a good solution if your PC isn't going to be on otherwise. I built my current desktop PC to be pretty efficient and scale it's power-usage back drastically when idling away.

I personally like the way auctions on Gunbroker work. If someone bids during the last 15 minutes of the auction, that auction is extended another 15 minutes. The process repeats itself until no one bids. That setup is more like a real auction versus people having to utilize software so they can bid during the last yoctosecond.
