Dell Still blows the big one!

Another hr of my life spent trying to learn Pakistani
Well Sir we will cancel your order from another dep ,but we can not verify it's cancellation.WTF over.
We suggest you call back with in 4 or 5 days and then we can connect you to that dept.
Now we need to see just how this will play out as they already billed me for the first broken computer.
I am tired of spending time on the phone only to be put on hold then the call mysteriously dropped.
I am forever done with anything Dell!

I got a even better computer from Best Buy tonight.
It will be my first exp with HP.
But hey they are local and speak a language I can understand.
I also got a good enough buy that I have a warranty that if someone in Pakistan sneezes it is covered.

P-3 Still on the Wenches computer.

F$ck Dell!

My experiences with Dell have been entirely negative. I rue the day IBM spun off its laptop operations. I have a Lenovo I hate nearly as much as my last Dell That's why I do my leisure computing on my trusty IBM R40.

I have yet, to this day, ever had tech support fix anything ever...even back in the 80's when they were in the United States and spoke Mid Atlantic English. At least now when you call Microsoft in India it's easy to convince them that you really did replace the motherboard on that OEM machine and aren't trying to use the key on a whole new computer.

Dell is nothing special, except they put tons of crap on their computers that you don't need, and they're not that cheap either. The first thing I do with Dells when they cross my path is "de-crapify" them. Everything is off the shelf parts (except maybe fancy weird shaped cases with terrible air flow), and the same goes with HP / Compaq.

I wasn't too impressed with my last HP / Compaq from about 6 months ago (I get them in trade for work all the time). Half the screws were missing from the motherboard mounts, only 2 SATA ports on the Mobo and both taken up by the DVD drive and HDD, and no spare RAM slots either, so you can't add RAM just replace what's there and junk the old sticks.

The last time I purchased a "store bought" computer was 1983.

I can not beat the service I have gotten from Sager on my laptop. I got a computer I wanted the way i wanted it and with a warranty with people in the US linked directly to the real manufacturer. My second gate was is a distant second way back when they actually had brick and motor stores.

I have used Dell for about 8 years, 3 computers and 1 laptop, wifes PDA, and have never had an issue. We still have every one of them, even my screaming fast p3 866 that I've had for said 8 years.....

I can't speak for the customer service side of Dell, but seems lots of companies do the same

my brother swears by hp from best buy with their service

I just picked up two from them for the boss and his house in florida.
Nice to have best buy be the IT instead of me for a change.
