There was something in my left ear...

A few days ago I started getting this slight pain inside my ear whenever I flex my ear. I thought maybe there was a giant piece of ear wax stuck to the walls so I tried scooping it out. I've been using q-tips and pinkies and I got the whole canal as clean as possible and still the pain was there. It couldn't have been from being scooped too much: I almost never pick my ear until after the pain arrived. But I thought I would give it the benefit of the doubt and assume it was scratch wounds and leave it alone to heal.

But then this morning I picked with my pinkie again and an entire hair came out. Suddenly I felt like my ear canal has been on fire and was just put on ice. What sweet relieve. The hair was like an inch long, probably from my sideburns, and because I have straight hair it must've went right inside my ear like an arrow. Would that puncture my eardrums if it went far enough? it's just a piece of hair...

Anyone else got stuff stuck inside their ear before? I remember one of my art teacher said she woke up deaf in one ear one day and went to the doctor, who pulled out an entire pillow feather from her ear...

I kinda wish we have frog ears: no canals...

Note to self:

qtips - for sticking in ears.
pencils - NOT for sticking in ears.

Heinous glad you have found relief. A week ago I had something that kept tickling my eyelashes, figuring cat fur I kept brushing it away, no good. Maybe it's a hair that has fallen out, nope. Possibly a loose eyelash? Nope still bugging me. Single freakish 1-1/2" single eyebrow hair, ACK!!! problem solved. Strange, very annoying.

Told my wife I was going to have those big wooly bushy eyebrows when I got older. The response? " You will be plucking them if it happens, or you better sleep with one eye open. I have Nair."

Eeek! A hair in the ear canal can't feel good at all.

Lately, I have gotten into the habit of pulling random nose hairs... that hurts really bad. But for some reason, I keep yanking them out...
