Wow! I took that for granted for years. My mom got a bunch of earrings and stuff that was anodized titanium way back when I was a little kid. Sort of pricey, but cool looking. =)
If I'd have been bright enough to put one and one together, I'd have more than likely said something about it.

Yup, Ti ano. is do-able.

I've got a black Ti ring that's pretty snazzy.
Still, I love the look of raw Ti.

So can anyone tell me why aluminum allows for darker colors while Ti is pastel.

Aluminum is dyed during the Ano process. The colors seen in Titanium are naturally produced without dye. I think the color is related to the Volt/Amperage level rather than produced by a dye. So while it's similiar it's not really the same process.

A lot of body jewerly is Ti also. It's better than stainless as far as being hypo-allergenic

dang!!!... too bad this wasn't known back in '92 when i broke my neck. i would love to have a cool titanium annoed plate in my neck instead of plain old boring stainless steel
