It is curious to find out how hard Bush and Republicans fought for regulation and oversite of Fannie and Freddy. Democrats, which controlled congress, prevented that. Especially Barny Frank, and Schumer.

Yet somehow Pelosi has the nerve to blame it all on the RNC? Nice

Well, if every one finds out that they really did cause a lot of this mess they wont get their new point man for "change" and complete the unforeseeable mess that might come with the next four years.

No money has changed hands yet. It is still up in the air exactly how these funds are going to be used. There needs to be changes that will fix the cancerous rot that has been going in Washington since at least 1913. They need to be held accountable to make sure that they make these changes.

This where it gets tough, but the American people still need to follow through on this bail-out plan. If we just go away, and though our hands in the air because we think that this is a "done deal," then we can expect more of the same corruption to follow.

This financial situation is a global problem, not just our problem, but it was in our ability to slap a band aid on it. It is not beyond reason to believe that had nothing been done, that foreign nations (like Russia for example) would have started to take things into their own hands. Even now, this financial fiasco has left their economy strapped. Many others are in even worse shape.

I am convinced that the reason measures were taken that defy logic and common sense by both sides of the house, and by Bush, (who looks like he aged 15 years last week), and by McCain who knew it was political suicide to agree to it was.................to stem off a global catastrophe.

Why are the Dems taking credit for scoring the win..........their all a bunch of wipers, and just being true to their nature. Many of them at least, not all.

The next president is going to have some real good skills to face up to foreign powers, and a lot of determination to lance the boil of corruption at home.

and only one of the candidates has this skill --- Dave Wirth
I vow to stand up to all foreign powers and tell them to eat -****e and like it. confiscate all foreign owned property in the USA and distribute it to the people. Open up a lot of federal land. If you want to own property, we do it the old fashioned way by having the acres marked off and everyone who wants to participate get on a horse. You have to live there as a homestead for 10 years and can not own other real estate property.

This is also allows banks to not sell to the government. If there is some BS mumbo jumbo rules and stipulations the banks will just go it on their own.

I'm starting to notice that there are many of us, or at least the ones that are debating this $700.000.000.000.00 issue don't really trust the government much, or not at all. So why are we all arguing about what they're gonna do with the money... We will never know what they will do with it.
My guess is it's already spent. Probably went towards the purchase of crude at whole sale prices. But like I said, we will never know. To think we do, is just arrogant in my opinion.

Just a hundred something years ago we had feudal system in the places most of us came from.The greedy folks that controled things allowed us new freedoms that we had not had, the ability to owe money and not go to jail.We are now serfs to our debts instead of the land.
Jefferson might of had a point in his letter in 1802.

`I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation,then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around [ the banks] will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered. The issuing power should be taken from the banks and restored to the people, to whom it properly belongs.'

Letter to the Secretary of the Treasury Albert Gallatin {1802}
