Brought this concept up at local dinner this am sorta shocked people. One man stated that there would be a world of sucides. Might help the gene pool. RJ |

There is no doubt in my mind some sort of rescue will be approved in the next week or so. The only thing is the specifics. Hopefully king dollar prevails sooner rather than later. | |

700 billion means the difference between a recession and a depression, it is there to buy back consumer confidence. The mortgage crisis has been going on for a couple of years now, the people that caused it like the borrowers and the institutions that wrote these mortgage are gone, so this money isn't there to reward the people that caused all this problems. Sub prime mortgages are nothing new, we all have seen it as "special introductory rate for first time buyers" normally it works, because it averages out during the amortization period of the loan, one thing to keep in mind is that while the sub prime loaned made a lot of people money, but it has sure fed lot more families. You and I are really not that much different than majority of the people that over extended themselves with the sub prime loans, they were just trying to take care of their families, want to give their kids a better life. It is easy for us to sit back and say "tough they got themselves into it, let them get themselves out" but if you stop for a minute and think of the worse case scenario.... as more banks fail, people panics and starts a run on the banks, that means bank will have to start selling it's investments and loans, guess what? just like the Autococker market, when there are lots of them on the market and they are desperate for money they all quickly become worthless, but when you are talking about something in this magnitude there only two choices for them to pick, one is the government and the other will be foreign investors, which one is more appetizing to you? |

Now what about offsetting the corporate depression (which puts millions out of work) and slash the corporate tax rates? Hell, make them 0% for a year, and then bring them to a flat rate of 11%. better than anything now, and the money that gets brought in will make up for the shortfall... It should help with a ton of jobs. While you are at it, if you are able bodied.. and are on welfare of any sort... guess what, we put your name on a possible employee list. Dont pull your weight, and guess what? no more money for you.
