Yeah SG7 already posted about what a dirt bag Wooten is/was.

The Tundra Drums - ?Troopergate? becomes a slam on Public Safety

Quote:
In Alaska, it is a crime to drive drunk. Instead of being arrested after a bartender reported Wooten driving drunk in his patrol car, the trooper who pulled Wooten over told him to park his car and drove him home. No Breathalyzer, no sobriety tests.

If a citizen, not a trooper, had used a Taser on his kid, he would be arrested for the crime of child abuse.

If a citizen, not a trooper, shot a moose without a proper license, he would be arrested for illegal taking of game.

If a citizen, not a trooper, were drinking beer in a moving vehicle, he’d be arrested for operating a vehicle with an open container of alcohol.

In America, if a man with a gun threatens the life of your family member, any person has the right to go to the authorities and demand both protection and prosecution of the crime. Did the trooper who investigated a witnessed threat on the life of a member of the governor’s family cover up the crime?

Wooten walked on each crime documented in his personnel file. With each count, his fellow troopers and supervisors hindered prosecution and covered up Wooten’s crimes. They violated their oath of office to enforce the law they were sworn to uphold.

Crimes are not personnel matters. Troopergate confirmed Wooten’s multiple crimes. The coverup of crimes is the foundation of public corruption just as it was long ago in Watergate.

After a yearlong internal investigation, these crimes were just footnotes in his personnel file. His crimes were covered up and papered over by his union and supervisors at the Alaska Department of Public Safety.

Great choice for VP, really great.
No, she used her power to fire a dirtbag trooper, who happened to be married to her.

How the hell does a guy get off with death threats to the Governer's father? Lets see him try that crap if she is the VP.

Fixed that for ya

but yeah I surprised it took the governer to get him fired anywhere else in the states he would have been serving time after he tazered his own kid.

DRG I am not sure what list that is?
I can tell you that the folks like Hollis French or Rep Gara that where leading the charge are not on that list?
The lawyer that was hired has done a lot of work in the past for the dems that are screaming for her removal.
The report released today said she did nothing wrong in firing the scumbag so this whole thing should be a non issue to begin with.
Although that was lost in the report because folks only read what they want to read. She will be cleared on any ethics charges when the time comes as well.

The list is the Alaska legislative council, the body that was doing the investigation and released the report today. It is essentially the legislature, when the legislature is no in session. They voted unanimously in July to hire the investigator, and they voted unanimously today to accept and present the report.

The reason you won't find a partisan smoking gun is the investigation was bipartisan, and done with the full cooperation of Alaska Republicans. It simply wasn't partisan. Palin just DID do something improper, in such an obvious way that the investigation practically had to be called.

She has been found to have abused her power and violated Alaska ethics law. No amount of lipstick can dress up that pig. If she is later cleared for partisan reasons, the facts will still remain.

If this is seriously the worst dirt that they can dig up on her, then I think she'll be just fine.

Trooper Wooten is still on the job.

In September 2003, Wooten, McCann and a friend who was a Wasilla police officer, Chris Watchus, hunted moose from a boat in the Jim Creek area.

McCann had drawn a permit for a cow moose but had never done that kind of hunting before, she told troopers in the investigation. They brought Wooten's rifle, a .300-caliber Winchester Magnum. Chuck Heath had been riding her to make sure the permit was used, Wooten told Wall. It was the last day for the hunt, McCann said. The Mat-Su lottery tags are highly coveted.

Minutes into the trip, they spotted a cow. "Do you want to shoot the moose?" Wooten says he asked his wife. As he recounted it, she told him that she didn't.

McCann said that Wooten took out the gun and shot the moose.

Wooten thought it as ok to use the wife's tag....I have seen this done many times with the wife or kids hunting present...right or wrong...Just another case of the soon to be ex-wife turning the husband in... Divorce is fun!

One day -- maybe a year or two before the investigation -- Wooten showed his stepson his Taser. He had just been to Taser instructor school. Wooten told Sgt. Wall that the boy was fascinated and pleaded to be tased.

"So we went in our living room and I had him get down on his knees so he wouldn't fall. And I taped the probes to him and turned the Taser on for like a second, turned it off. He thought that was the greatest thing in the world, wanted to do it again," Wooten told the investigator. The boy flinched but nothing more, he said. The boy was about 11 at the time.

Anyone here been tased by a friend in law enforcement?...I have and know of many others who have.... Remember there is different levels of the shocking power.
Another case soon to be ex-wife turns him in...

Drinking issues.....

But Grimes re-interviewed a couple who lived nearby and found them believable about an incident that occurred in the summer of 2004. Adrian and Marilyn Lane told her they are friends of the family but wouldn't lie to help the family.

So a year or a year and a half later...He was found guilty of drinking one beer out of a fridge in a gargage of a family friends home, then taking one beer with him and then driving in the patrol car..
Any other witnesses...no...any DUI testing..no

*edit*..Two years later

Herrell, who said he was No. 1 at the Palmer post with more than 250 drunken-driving arrests, didn't think Wooten seemed drunk. He didn't slur, his eyes weren't bloodshot or watery.

Was Wooten drunk?

"No," Herrell told Wall. "I believe that he consumed an alcoholic beverage, but I don't believe that he's intoxicated.

Wooten and McCann's divorce was finalized in January 2006. They continue to have disputes over custody and visitation.

He's no angel....but 99% of the complaints or interviews with law enforcemeent was from the Palin's, McCann's and family or circle of friends....

It all depends on which Alaskan newspaper to copy it from...... Right SG7

Troopers eventually investigated 13 issues and found four in which Wooten violated policy or broke the law or both:

• Wooten used a Taser on his stepson. As reported in the investagation...His son is no momma's boy

• He illegally shot a moose. Shot moose with wife present...wife had tags....back in 2003....

• He drank beer in his patrol car on one occasion. Two years later this was determined. And with two friends who wouldn't lie for the family as witnesses.

• He told others his father-in-law would "eat a f'ing lead bullet" if he helped his daughter get an attorney for the divorce. Well...money buys the kids in court.....Anyone been there before?
