if I remember right great whites don't care for mammal meat untill they are fully grown. It may even be many other breeds of sharks as well, a big contributor to why many people can still survive attacks.

I love sharks. They are truly cool.

Sharks as a whole don't like boney meals. THAT is why most shark attack victims survive. The shark has no other way to feel their potential meals than to take a nip at them. And once a shark determines that what they are going after is not a fat juicy meal, but instead a bony interloper that looked like their preferred meal, they generally go about their way. This does not hold true all the time, but does for the vast majority of times.

Remember, we are in their dining room, not the other way around.

shock and awe

at work the guys in the shop attached foam flippers to a boogie board and stuffed a round drink cooler with a video camera in it amidship

our TV crew went trolling for whites off the channel islands and got some impressive hits

those breaching south african whites are impressive

Thanks for the links, great watch indeed.

Didn't know that great whites could move so damn fast. I would like to see some underwater footage of one going after a seal, now that would be impressive.

For your viewing pleasure: Streaming Video of the Outer Bay tank at the Monterey Bay aquarium

Note, it's the only Aquarium with a Live great white in a tank - this is their second - the first was released back into the ocean when it started getting to big, and stalking the other sharks in the tank.

The other Monterey Bay vidcams
