Hey Guy, really sorry to hear about what's going on with you guys. I'm currently looking around to see what I could possibly sell just to make next month's house payment. My business has been hit hard and wife and I are the only employees.

In my experience, layoffs never seem to target the low-producers. Last Thursday we had 3 layoffs in my group. All 3 seem to be salary dumps. Never mind that their salary was likely tied to high-production/value to the organization. The same people that spend their afternoons pissing around with youtube or ebay are still here...now reinforced with the thought that there are other people that have higher salaries than them (and therefore have a higher likelihood of being purged).

If I was given the task of reducing total salary expeditures, I would view that mandate as an opportunity for some well needed housekeeping. It shouldn't be as simple as making a list of employees, sorting them by salary, then slashing the top 3.

Damn, bro, that really friggin sucks. I'll keep an ear out for positions here in the building if she needs something in the interim. We may have holiday work around here in the Gift Center and I know many, many of the shop owners... I'll ask around.

Aside from that, I missed this mont's game, but for November, just make it up to my place and hop in the car with us. Paint is on me! A nice pump day is a great way to blow off a little frustration.

If you can avoid selling things, please, please avoid it. If I can help in amy way, I will. If I get a windfall of funds, I'll buy one of your markers, store it and sell it back when you're ready, but I doubt I will.

Curt - Yeah I just read that thread of yours yesterday. Absolutely appalling. I hope the guy gets hit by a Short Bus. Sorry to hear business is lagging. Times are just hard all around. I really hope you don't have to sell anything.

Shawn - Yeah I missed this last one too but will try to make it up in November. Thanks for the offer but I don't think any of us are expecting to find a large windfall any time in the near future.

The thoughts and comments are greatly appreciated.
