AIG gets another $150 billion? Really?

What the crap? Am I the only person whos blood pressure skyrokcets everytime I read the mornings headlines? What a bunch of bull. I sell real estate for a living and I dont see the government offering up any bailouts for us realtors. Its the banks friggin' reason were in this situation to begin with. Were out here starving and Uncle Sam is handing out cash to the people responsible. I am absolutely f'ing furious. Who the hell do I have to swindle to get some govt. assistance around here?

I agree completely...makes me angry too. Too bad we can't make those on Capital Hill pay for it. On top of that, there is strong talk about bailing out the big three automakers.

Frankly, this past year really concerns me about the future of capitalism in our country. Isn't it ironic that we slip closer to socialism by the day and China progresses steadily towards capitalism.

I dont see how in the hell the govt. thinks handing these companies cash is going to help. If they are built around a failing business model the its just prolonging the inevitable (and making it more painful in the end). Personally I say let em all crash and burn. Let every member of their upper manangement go out and get an $8 an hour job flipping burgers (if they can find one).

I saw a thing about AIG on the news. Apparently after their bailout, all the execs treated themselves to a business "retreat", complete with limo service, booze and all the food they could eat.

not sure if it was their execs or if it was people they were doing business with but I remember hearing the same thing, our taxes pay for their champaign

And what boggles my mind is that this country in debt as much as it is, thinks that by printing more money (making more debt) and giving it to each and everyone of us is going to solve the problem when we spend it. Seriously, you guys have to start writing your congressmen/women. Flood their email. At least they will know they are opposing the people's will. Griping about it here does nothing.

Just google US congress, on that site, you can locate your representative. Send them an email, they all say they will read them all, and respond. I got one from Ron Kind when the first bail out went down. I also wrote Russ Fiengold, thanking him for being one of the few Senators who voted AGAINST the bailout bill. I can be bi-partisan too!

Take action, do more than just vote. If the representatives never hear about what you think, how are they supposed to know? Be polite, be respectful, but let them know.

Grumbling about it here only gets you riled up, or vents steam. Nothing else is accomplished.

Write them, tell them what you think..

Well, on second thought, maybe all of what you think might be a bit much, but you get the idea.

I completey agree Christian. If they dont feel their elected positions are in jeapordy they wont do anything. I say re-elect nobody. Ever.
