| Unharshed Mellow  Join Date: May 2006  | Who is making things for Christmas gifts?
My wife and I made some soap this year, I made some match cases for my Brother and Father, and I am pondering what to do for my kids. Here is the match case:  What are you all making this year - no bought stuff please - just made - or at least fully assembled! TF |

Shadow boxes, do it yourself wine kits and Scrapbooking pages are on the gift giving list this year. I like doing shadow boxes, the wife is a published scrapbooker and well everyone like wine in my family.

We are planning on doing jars filled with the ingredients to instant microwave cakes (nom nom nom) and I was planning on engraving more glasses this year, they really went over well last year.

My wife and I make things, no where near as nice as that milled match case. Last year we made bath baskets for everyone, We made soaps, knit washcloths, mixed in scented bath salts etc.. They were quite a hit. I am knitting a scarf for my daughter right now, but otherwise I am not sure what else we are making this year. At the least I will make something for the wife. |

I'll see what I can grab when I get home. I use old picture frames when I can. I see them at walmart for a couple bucks now and then and well i can't make them for that cheap. A few years back I did a couple for my dad and uncle. When we were cleaning out my grandparents place after they passed away we found my dad and uncles old boyscout stuff. (My grandparents kept everything) One of the few times i've seen my dad break down in tears.
