re-polishing an ultralite

So my buddy received an ultralite in a trade and the back of the 2 piece barrel is scuffed and scratched to ****. the bore of the barrel is so scored it looked intentional. So over the thanksgiving break iam gonna go home and attack the inside with some aluminum polish and some kind of buffer and hopefully re polish the inside.

If anyone has done this before i would like some tips.......

thanks g-man

I had an Ultralight that looked bad like it was some how scratched really badly and all i did is took some mother mag aluminum polish and a shotgun barrel cleaning swab, i have a shotgun that is why it was available and stuck the rod into the drill and applied the alum polish and put the drill on high speed and it seemed to work very well afterward

Try shooting it first...I bet it runs just fine. My favorite nelspot is rusted all to hell in the barrel but it shoots great!

Why would you toss it? If it can still be salvaged why not try, he has nothing to lose.

I think only a nelspot can do that. I have one too that is pitted inside the bore but shoots amazingly straight.
