Rather be tried by 12 than carried by 6? Maybe not....

Lets all give the school system a nice round of applause. She might have been stupid, but I bet she feels great about herself as a person!

Smooth.
But honestly, how stupid do you have to be? It is very clearly explained to you what you cannot do as a jurry member, I mean a monkey could practically do it.

person is a dumb a**. My dad was on a jury years ago and can't discuss the details to this day as there were things that happened inside the court that never came out in the media

It'd be a little more time saving if they just had a website running forums, and would post a thread with the name of the convicted, and the thread had details as to what happened, a brief summary of arguments, etc. Then you just voted "Guilty" or "Not Guilty" in the poll. Set the poll to run for a week, and at the end of the week, the guilty receive some form of punishment or imprisonment, and the innocent walk free.

I once picked a jury in a criminal matter and then, before trial started, I went to the scene of the crime and was taking some pictures for use in the trial.

While I was there, I noticed a familiar face and actually managed to take a few pictures with this person in the background. When the jury was ushered in the following day, I figured out that the person that I had recognized was a member of my jury.

I notified the Judge and showed her the pictures. The Judge called the juror in and the juror said that he figured he would get to be "jury foreman" if he went and did some research on the crime. He even showed the Judge that he had brought in clippings from the news articles related to the case.

Needless to say, I got an entirely new jury before the trial recommenced.

Some people tend to stop listening, consciously or unconsciously, when they are given instructions, especially those containing "high falootin'" language. Their desire to "help" is all they can think of and that flushes everything else right out of their heads.
