Great pics, I never knew the PPSH 41 was available in a non drum clip variation. I saw it in 2 pics there.

there where a couple of different submachine guns that the Soviet army used during WWII. it only seems that the PPSh 41 gets all the attention, or at least all the pictures taken. i find it funny, that this reenactment is probably using WWII issued uniforms and equipment, since the Soviet/Russian military, never throws anything away. and almost a good job of replicating at Mk.III Panzer. close, but you can't substitute a christie suspension for a canterlever one. but i'm being a nit-picker. |

I like the masses of spectators in the background. It really gives a sense of what some of those Soviet wave assaults must have looked like. In our country, the reenactors are much stingier. I went down to see the Battle of the Bulge reenactment at Fort Indiantown Gap a couple of years back and spectators are strictly prohibited. I had to sneak into the woods to see what I could and everyone was very pissy with anyone not in a period uniform of some kind. Of course, the Russians in the pics above are probably all equipped with at least one bottle of vodka... for later use as Molotov Cocktails, of course. Probably also serves to keep them all pretty cheerful. Great pics! D |

Wow, wonderful photos. What camera was he using? Other than the uniforms looking fresh off the press, I love it.
