Ouch. I do believe I'll be going with the $300 LCP.

Sewiv got it right, too. A Bersa .380 might be fun, but you can 1) go much smaller for a concealed .380, or 2) stay the same size and get a much more powerful gun. Like I've mentioned, Bersa's Ultra Compact (UC) line is shorter than the .380, carries more rounds, and comes in 9mm, .40, and .45.

I was lucky enough to by it new and wholesale from my friend who has a small store.
I think $350.00..I've heard they are pricy now....

You will have to track one down as I believe they are not made anymore for infringing on a patent....Beretta

I have shot or carried almost everything mentioned in this thread...I can't say anything bad about the Colt pocket models and if you carry it has to work no matter what...That's what I base my carry weapon on ...Just needs a slight polish on the ramp... I had a slight trigger/spring job done by a Law Enforcement smith..But I really didn't need it done...I like it leaps and bounds above the Keltec, Kahr, Beretta Tomcat Pistol .32 cal or Beretta Bobcat Pistol which is .25 cal which I have carried before....and had problems with those sometime or the other....The only thing the Colt doesn't like is aluminum cases on the cheap target rounds...I use Federal Premium Hydra Shok JHP..

One big thing to remember, you want small but if you go too small your accuracy goes away pretty fast, and accuracy should be your number one concern. I find that the P230(same size as the PPK but with a grip many find more comfortable) is the best balance for me, its not hard to conceal and I can shoot it very accuratly. Also when concealing a weapon width is more important then length, I know you might want a big ol .45 because the Guns and Ammo people told you so, but thats going to be pretty hard to hide regardless of how short the barrel and grip are. You want something thin, are high cap mags really worth the added difficulty or are 7 rounds enough? The .380 really is plenty big enough to easily bring down a person regardless of what internet/gun mag hype may say, sure the .40 is more powerful but the difference of the two in an actual person at close range isn't as much as you'd think so is it worth it? To each his own, but its definatly something you should think about.

Does anyone here have any experience with Hi-Point's firearms? I like the no questions asked lifetime warranty and the price.

Wasn't there a thread on this earlier? Dig that one up for a longer read. :P

Never seen one have any problems, but sometimes you get what you pay for. More or less reliable, accurate for the price, but they're as good a club as a firearm.

Nothing I'd conceal, and not the go-to house gun. Fine for plinking.

I have no problem shooting 2" groups at 10 yards with my LCP. I used it in a turkey shoot, shooting at a moving target from 50 feet, and got 3 hits out of 4 shots. It's ridiculously easy to shoot well. Much easier than my J frame S&W .38 Special, even though I can only get 1.5 fingers on the grip (I have very large hands).

What I'm saying is just because it's small doesn't mean it's harder to shoot. You really need to try whatever you are buying if you can.
