You broke your neck when you fell down the stairs and had an argument with your wife after you left a stink in the bathroom.

I love Google.

One of the reasons the government wants to track cars with GPS' to tax them is because they're becoming too fuel efficient. Thankfully hybrids are a dead end and are only bought by people to feel smug about themselves.

I've been to Europe a few times and see what they pay...my family all live in Portugal. Same price per liter as it is per gallon over here (4 liters in a gallon by the way). I can get 15 mpg out of my 7.4 liter V8 truck...I would have to get about 60 MPG to pay as much per mile driven as I would in Lisbon, 45 MPG in London.

So I can either have to deal with a tiny little Renault piece of garbage with sliding glass windows and a shifter that sticks out of the dash that can't even make it up a steep hill with 4 people in the car, or a big @$$ obnoxious 4x4 SUV that can carry 6 easily and tow 10,000 lbs. I wonder what the guys from Top Gear would choose (even though they hate American cars)?

People don't realize when they advocate for smaller more fuel efficient cars in the US that gasoline will end up costing them just as much per mile driven once they raise the taxes to European standards.

What we need is a freeze on the amount of government programs out there. If you want a new one, you have to axe an old one.

But then the weasels would just figure out a way around it.

(Sorry to insult any actual weasels out there)

The additional to the European and Asian release cars, even the ones produced by US companies of which there are many, is that the average American consumer of such a vehicle has to import it, making it more expensive and therefore no longer economical and in fact a luxury. The performance isn't an issue to the ignorant who see "a car as a car" and "a truck as a truck" and don't really think about power or capability as much as class status and the "cool factor" of owning a little foreign car so that they can tell all of their Hipster friends how much more Green they are as they smoke their clove cigarettes and IM people on their 3G smartphones about how much they hate vehicles larger than a Prius because Jack Johnson's blog told them so, sipping lattes with names longer than the ones you find at a traditional Mexican wedding. The gas tax is one they'd be likely to pay because it's European and therefore "better" in the eyes of an ignorant, guilty-rich, wanna-be-proletariat hipster like we have in most American cities.

So when the Hipsters and Celebrities and CEO's and politicians who just, "don't have time in their busy lives" to learn anything about purchases, other than more expensive must be better, backwards technology and poor money handling are sure to follow. For years our elections have been a celebrity death match and we have stood by and allowed it. We've been paying the piper for that mindset for that many years.

Disclaimer: This is an opinion. If you don't like it, have no valid counterpoint, and want to say something negative about me, my blind *** dog, or my mother, PM me so that I can tell you why I don't care without cluttering up the thread or making you look like an idiot.
