Musicians?

Just curious to see who among us plays instruments, and maybe what equipment your using. I myself play violin (4 years) and Guitar (2 yrs). I'm not really sure what brand violin I play, but I am using a Yamaha acoustic guitar. I love it to death, but I am saving up for a Taylor.

Cool!
I did a couple of years of piano when I was young, and played the flute and piccolo in band for 9 years. (still do) I also have been known to pick at my guitars. I have a nice Fender accoustic, and a cheepie electric thing.
My special yet to learn is the bagpipes, I have a chanter and futz around with it, but am yet to find lessons.

well im 19 now, and have played the guitar scince i was 7, i ahve a Martin HD-28, Taylor 301, and some off brand that i started with way back then....
I also play the banjo and have done so scine i was 8 or so, I ahve a Gibson Mastertone RB 250 resonator, and a Deering gootime open back, both are 5 string.

so yeh alot of money tied up in those instruments right there, and they really dont get near enough use.

Stud- thats really cool that you play violin, one of my friends here at college playes to, but he playes it more of the fiddle style, hes played forever i guess, like the third generation to play the same violin.....

Trumpet
I have been playing for 30+ years now I was forced to take off the last few due to injury. I play a vintage Getzen Eterna Doc Severson model in lacquered brass with a Black Hill 11/2 B mouth piece ( I also have a newer MP a Greg Hill two piece an exact copy of my BH MP) on occasion borrow my brother's 61 Schilky (SP way off) in soft bright nickle late. ( Looks and sounds like silver but does not tarnish nearly as bad) I prefer playing in big band, pit and orchestras I do not improv and my preferred solos are ballards.

I play guitar and sing in a band that gigs once every month or two at a couple local bars. Mostly covers, a few originals sometimes.
I play a Fender Strat through a Fender stage 160.

well... let's start with brass, any of the 'three valve' (key) intruments, trumpet, french horn and tuba all come to mind immediately.

I also got fluent with the Clairinet and to a limited extent, the flute.

i currently play Tin Whistles (*Love* Feadog and Clarke) as well as picking up a bit of chanter, fife and Ocarina and ect.
