That doesn't always work either,I had it done and still had the same problem.

I had this done when I was a teenager - I used to get nosebleeds on a weekly basis, the mere act of sneezing would set it off. It isn't really major surgery, I had it done in a doctors office, and was awake through the procedure.

I remember loosing a cup or two of blood from a nosebleed once.

I just remembered rolling over in something wet when I was asleep, almost choking on it, and waking up to noticing my pillow and sheets drenched in blood. Took another half hour to get it to stop after that even. It wasnt even dripping. It was just a stream running out of my face. It was just about the worst night of my entire life. I was so weak and hungry afterwards, but so sick from all of the blood I inadvertantly swallowed. I was hacking up stuff for hours.

Also not a wonderful thing to have happen when you are both anemic, and iron deficeincy anemic. One of only a few thousand males in the world diagnosed with both...

You may want to check as well you blood pressure during these times when you get frequent nosebleeds. I never thought I had high blood pressure but I was getting NB all the time and the doc had me monitor my BP and found it was fairly high and put me on some basic meds and that was the end of NBs.
